CFA DISTRIBUTED NEARLY 50,000 SEVEN-DAY EMERGENCY FOOD PACKAGES IN 2009

• An emergency food package is seven-days worth of food for whatever size family is making the request.
• On average, an emergency food package consists of 10 bags of groceries.
• CFA increased the number of times a client can come for help from 6 to 9 times a year.
• 14% of all people who came for food had never been to CFA before;  9% were recently unemployed; 38% of all recipients were children under the age of 18 years;  25% were children under the age of six, and seniors over the age of 60 accounted for 13%.
