Stop & Shop’s annual Food for Friends Program donated $4,137 to support Center for Food Action (CFA) work to provide emergency food to local families and individuals in need. Stop and Shop customers and associates made this donation possible.
“We believe it’s important to give back to the community we serve and consider it a privilege to strengthen and support our neighbors,” said Peter Romero, Stop & Shop store manager
The five participating Stop and Shop Food for Friends stores were Carlstadt, Hackensack, Ringwood, Tenafly and Waldwick.
“CFA is extraordinarily grateful for the important support of Stop & Shop’s annual Food for Friends Program and the customers and associates who make it possible. The winter is always tough on our clients so the timing of this generous donation is critical to our ability to keep food on the tables of our local neighbors in need,” according to Jennifer Johnson, CFA’s director of communications. “It’s a perfect example of neighbors helping neighbors.”
