Recap of CFA’s 4th Annual 5K Run/Walk

On Saturday, May 3rd, Overpeck County Park in Ridgefield Park, NJ, was filled with energy and community spirit as more than 200 participants joined Center for Food Action’s (CFA) 4th Annual 5K Run/Walk. The event brought together runners, walkers, families, and supporters to raise funds and awareness in the fight against food insecurity across northern New Jersey.

The day began with an energizing Zumba warm-up led by Coach Deborah from Mocha Moms, setting the tone for a morning of movement and purpose. Bergen County Commissioner Tracy Zur addressed the crowd, emphasizing CFA’s vital role in combating hunger and expressing gratitude for the community’s involvement.

Participants took on a USATF-certified course, with standout performances including Kyuman Lee’s impressive first-place finish in 17 minutes and 30 seconds. The event successfully raised over $30,000, thanks to the generosity of donors and sponsors such as Wegmans.

We thank everyone who contributed to making this event a success. Your support helps CFA continue its mission to provide food, housing, and utility assistance to those in need.
