Center for Food Action to Host 14th Annual 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance Event

Community members of all ages are invited to assemble 2,000 Weekend Snack Packs for local children, with free entry for up to three children ages 12 and under per adult ticket holder.

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. (Aug. 19, 2026) — Center for Food Action (CFA) will host its 14th annual 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance Weekend Snack Pack Event on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Englewood, 401 S. Van Brunt St.

Each year, CFA brings community members together in the spirit of service to honor those impacted by September 11 and the acts of compassion and unity that followed. During this year’s event, volunteers will assemble 2,000 Weekend Snack Packs to help provide food for local children at risk of food insecurity.

The event is designed for volunteers of all ages and gives families an opportunity to serve together. Up to three children ages 12 and under may attend free with each supervised adult ticket holder.

“CFA’s 9/11 Day of Service gives families, businesses and community members a meaningful way to come together and turn remembrance into action,” said Nicole Davis, director of Center for Food Action. “The snack packs assembled during this event will directly support local children, while giving participants of all ages an opportunity to make a difference in their community.”

This year’s event will once again be chaired by Jen Maxfield, Emmy® Award-winning correspondent for NBC 4 New York, and will welcome BrandActive as a first-time event sponsor.
